Design Concept (View PDF of Proposal here >>>)
Central to the design concept for proposed developments at Waldringfield Golf and Leisure is the provision of a variety of sports and leisure activities for a wide range of age groups. It also defines a new kind of retirement living choice which addresses the demand shown by a population looking to enjoy a healthy active retirement with family and friends. This is linked to golf and other appropriate leisure and exercise facilities encouraging healthy active lifestyles into later years. New supported living, retirement housing and leisure lodges provides for a variety of accommodation on the site. The proposed Sports and Leisure facilities include:
- Re-designed 18 Hole Golf Course
- Six Hole Par 3 Course
- ‘Himalayas’ Putting Course
- Golfers Lounge and Swing Studio
- Tennis Courts
- Indoor Swimming Pool
- Lawn Bowls and Pavilion
- Two Croquet Lawns
The above are key to the over arching concept of active ageing, whilst providing the opportunity for low-impact exercise of varying demands for a wide range of age groups.
The Golf Facilities
The new 18 hole golf course consisting of two inter related 9 hole courses is designed to be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, with a range of optional course lengths available. The Six hole Par 3 course is a perfect introduction to golf and providing an opportunity to refine ‘short game’ skills. The 18 holes ‘Himalayas’ Putting Course provides a flexible fun and challenging putting green for practice and introduction to the game. The new Golfers Lounge and Swing Studio further enhances the golf facilities and maintaining the Waldringfield Golf Club identity within the proposed development.
The Clubhouse acts as a social hub for club members and residents alike with plans for significant development and refurbishment of the existing building. This includes the creation of an outdoor social space or ‘Village Square’ to provide, along with the Club House, a setting for the Swimming Pool, Bowls Pavilion with two impressive Oak trees to the East.
Many existing members and other interested parties have already enquired as to the size, specification and cost of the housing we are proposing to build within the curtilage of the club and the neighbouring yard. Over the forthcoming weeks we will be in a position to provide further details of the varying house types. To register your interest please email to firstname.lastname@example.org in order that further details can be sent out in due course. Any existing existing members returning to the club once the course and leisure enhancements have been made, will be entitled to a 50% reduction in their first year membership of both the golf and leisure elements of Waldringfield Golf and Leisure.
